I don’t know how I got so lucky to work with Kristin & Jordan, but I’m over the moon that it happened! I first heard from Kristin in December and we started talking about the details of the wedding and her relationship with Jordan. The two of them met in acting classes at Virginia Tech and after graduation, they moved to New York City to pursue their careers. I have so much love and respect for those who go after their dreams, and I was so excited to get to know them better.
The wedding was held at Kristin’s parent’s home on the bay in Virginia Beach (also where both of her sisters were married!) and there were so many personal touches throughout the wedding. While we didn’t get to meet in person beforehand, I felt like I got to know them in the planning process, and it was so nice to finally meet them! The whole morning was spent getting ready and I had the pleasure of watching everyone pitch in to get things setup and decorated for the ceremony & reception. Again, all the personal details were so sweet and it was really fun getting to photograph so many special pieces! Everyone was so wonderful and treated me like I was a part of the family as well, and I can’t say enough about how incredible both Kristin & Jordan’s families are!
Despite rain in the morning and throughout the ceremony, the timing with the weather was crazy! Immediately after the ceremony ended and when Kristin & Jordan walked outside, the skies opened up and the sun peeked through! It was such perfect timing, and I was so happy that we were able to take photos outside! The reception was a blast with everyone dancing the night away under the twinkle lights. I was even able to snag the newlyweds for some night portraits in the dreamy backyard!
Kristin & Jordan’s wedding was truly a labor of love with so many people coming together to create such a magical day, congrats!
Also, see the photo at the very end of this post for a story about a sweet moment from the wedding.
I loved watching Kristin peek out at the setup throughout the morning!

I have to include a small story that really demonstrates how lovely this family is and how lucky I am to have gotten to know them. Jordan’s sister contacted me shortly after the wedding to ask about a photo with her & her brother. This is not uncommon, so I thought nothing of it at first. Then, she mentioned that shortly before the wedding, her infant son had passed away and she had a feeling that his presence would be seen in the photos taken with her brother - specifically asking if there were any sun flares. I started looking through the family photos, remembering that it was a cloudy day with only a little sunshine, so I wasn’t sure what I’d find. Lo and behold, the only photos in that set with any sun rays were the ones with the two of them, where a beam of light is shining down on them. We were both left speechless by this, and I’m very grateful that she gave me permission to share her story.
