I get asked about bridal portraits fairly frequently. Are they common? Do I need to get bridal portraits? What are they for? To be honest, there isn’t one set answer - it’s really about what outcomes you’re looking for personally. Having a separate bridal session before the wedding day makes it very easy to get plenty of lovely portraits of the bride without thinking about all the things going on during a wedding day. It’s important for me to ensure that each couple I work with gets the photos they want without adding stress or frustration on the actual wedding day. If that means doing a session before or after the wedding - I am all about it! I’m also down to do groom’s photos or an additional couples session in wedding attire before or after the wedding day for anyone looking to add a little portrait time or in the event of inclement weather. As a photographer, I am always excited about a photo session, whatever the reason, so don’t hesitate to ask!
This particular bridal session with Sarah at Red August Farm was not only a great time for us to catch up again before the wedding & see the venue itself, but also to just have fun walking around snapping photos. The weather was really crisp and windy, which kept things fun for us, and Sarah looked absolutely stunning (seriously, see for yourself!). Red August Farm is such an amazing venue, I was so excited to finally see it in person! It’s a beautiful open property with sweeping fields, the old red barn is so pretty on it’s own (not to mention when it’s decorated for a wedding - that blog will be coming soon), plus a tree-lined drive, picturesque swing with mountain views all around. Truly, I was in love! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!
