I was so looking forward to wrapping up my summer weddings with Kinsey & Tyler’s rooftop wedding. I was also very excited that it was going to be in downtown Roanoke, so I wouldn’t need to travel! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love traveling for weddings, but sometimes it’s nice to have one so close to home!
From the first time I talked to Jenny over the phone, I knew that her wedding to Chris was going to be one for the books. To start, it was at Wilderness Adventure, a place that is very near and dear to my heart. When I first moved to Virginia, it was for a job as a backpacking trip leader for their year round and summer camp programs. I spent a few years working there in a wide variety of roles before eventually ending up as a photographer in Roanoke. So, needless to say, I have quite a lot of love for their venue, and was very excited to get to know the couple that choose such a unique place for their wedding!
I don't know where to begin with this wedding, from start to finish, it was an absolute joy to be a part of and I am so glad Lesley & Michael chose me to be their photographer!
First, this was a much different experience than many of my weddings because instead of being outdoors or in a relatively small town, this wedding was all in downtown Staunton, Virginia. I was able to be at the rehearsal too, so I booked an Airbnb that seemed close to everything, and when I arrived, I realized it was within walking distance which was AMAZING!
Despite growing up in the same town, Hannah & Ethan didn't actually meet until he was stationed oversees as a Marine. Nevertheless, their relationship grew over facebook and occasional in-person visits when possible until they finally decided to move to Arizona together. Braving the Virginia humidity, they decided to get married closer to their hometown of Blacksburg, and Montfair Resort Farm in Crozet was the perfect choice!
From the moment Rachel contacted me about her brunch wedding, I knew it was going to be such a good time. She and Josh were both so relaxed all day, focused only on what was important - each other! They were adorably lovey on one another and it was so fun being a fly on the wall all day, getting to see how sweet they were together!
I had been looking forward to this wedding for a while because the Maridor is beautiful and winter weddings are so much fun! Emily & Gregory are such great people too, and I knew their wedding would be gorgeous the minute Emily told me they would be using Black Watch tartan detailing. I also loved all the gold accents - from the sparkling bridesmaids dresses to the golden lights, this wedding had such a warmth about it (despite being on an incredibly cold day)!
